TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has arrived in Delhi for the NDA meeting scheduled for later in the evening.

Referring to Nitish Kumar's greater bargaining capacity in the potential NDA government, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said special state status to Bihar should be among the conditions to form a government as the state has become a kingmaker. Tejashwi also suggested conducting a caste census across the country and increasing the reservation cap to 75% among the other two conditions.

A meeting of the NDA lawmakers is expected to take place on Friday to elect Modi as the leader of the alliance.

NCP(SP) chief Sharad Pawar asserted there has been no discussion within the INDIA bloc yet on reaching out to the TDP or JDU to shore up the numbers of the opposition coalition for government formation.

“We have not talked to anyone. I have an opinion that we should think about our step after seeing the number. We have a number, we can't overlook it. We will have to focus on that. I have read in newspaper that Nitish Kumar will remain with NDA. I will not talk to Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu. We can further inform you after the meeting.”

After the recent election results, Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), suggested that the INDIA alliance should try to form the next government at the national level. This is because the BJP party didn't get enough seats to win on its own. Thackeray said the alliance leaders will meet tomorrow in Delhi to choose who should be their Prime Minister candidate. He also mentioned that they are talking with other party leaders to see if they can join their alliance.

Apna Dal (Soneylal) candidate and Union Minister Anupriya Patel has won the Mirzapur Lok Sabha seat with a margin of 37,810 votes.

The NDA is likely to win 30 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, its lowest tally since 2014. JD-U and LJP-R returned with better strike rate in Bihar than the BJP, which contested the maximum number of 17 seats. While BJP could win just 12 seats, JD-U is also likely to win 12 out of 16 seats and LJP all its five seats. HAM-S won the lone seat former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi contested from Gaya.

Congress candidate KL Sharma has defeated Union minister Smriti Irani in Amethi by 1,67,196 votes. Smriti Irani had defeated Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in 2019.

West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should resign as he has lost his credibility.

Rakesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has consolidated his lead in Purnia Lok Sabha seat against JD(U) candidate Santosh Kushwaha. Yadav is leading by 21,357 votes.

Pappu Yadav, contesting as an independent, is leading from Purnia by 8804 votes against Janata Dal (United) candidate Santosh Kushwaha. RJD candidate Bima Bharti is distant third and could even lose her deposit.

BJP’s sitting MP Mahesh Sharma has retained Gautam Budh Nagar the Lok Sabha seat for a third time by securing 8,57,829 votes.

Former Calcutta high court judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay, whom the BJP fielded from Tamluk Lok Sabha seat in East Midnapore, was leading by a margin of around 10,000 votes over TMC’s Debangshu Bhattacharya.
