HTLS 2024 Live: Chandrababu Naidu says he expected a clear majority for BJP in Lok Sabha polls

Chandrababu Naidu said that Indians are now doing extremely well due to their advanced knowledge of technology. He added that, anywhere in the world, Indians are earning the highest per capita, and among them, 30 per cent are Telugu, who are at the forefront with this advantage.

Chandrababu Naidu said that in a democracy, social media has become very vulnerable. He mentioned that nobody used to talk about information technology, but he started discussing it in 1995.

He shared that he had fought with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was the Prime Minister at the time, about promoting information technology when there was no bandwidth. Naidu said that based on his report, he deregulated the telecommunication sector.

Chandrababu Naidu said that there will always be differences in a family, but it is very important to respect each other's opinions. Similarly, in a coalition government, it is essential to come to a consensus and set aside differences. He added that the current government is working along these lines.

Chandrababu Naidu said that PM Narendra Modi is a strong and very progressive leader. Naidu added that PM Modi has brought about revolutionary development, and it is only India growing at 7.58 per cent, which demonstrates the strength of his leadership.

Chandrababu Naidu shared his experience while he was in prison and said that throughout his lifetime, he has maintained decorum and is very strict about following public policies.

The chief minister said that he was arrested without any notice, but it strengthened his resolve that he would not let his energy fall.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the Prime Minister is always preparing for the next elections and holds lengthy meetings, which reflects his determination.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has been recognised globally. He mentioned that the brand of India is very strong and the country has the potential to do wonders.

John Kerry said that under the agreement, Iran was supposed to dismantle 13,000 centrifuges used to create uranium for a bomb. He said that the country was also required to destroy their plutonium reactor, filling the core with cement to ensure it could never be used again. Iran had to open up all their production facilities to international inspection, he added.

John Kerry said that two weeks into the war, Israel announced the construction of 13,000 new units in the West Bank. He also mentioned that the Arab world had accepted the idea that Israel would be a Jewish state.

John Kerry said that things in the Middle East will change, some for the good and some for the bad. He mentioned that Israelis, who were once pushing for a two-state solution, are now facing challenges. He added that building trust among Palestinians will take time.

"In the US Presidential elections, the two biggest issues were - Inflation and Immigration. The inflation under the Biden administration got better but there was a lack of felt need," says Kerry.

S Jaishankar said that his sense is that President Trump is determined to make America more competitive and brings a strong element of business viability to this goal. He added that such an America will look for partners with whom it can work in a complementary fashion.

S Jaishankar said that the United States will become more self-aware under the Trump administration regarding its economic and manufacturing interests, as the nature of technology is linked to national security.

He added that today, technology and national security cannot be compartmentalised, and this is part of the digital and AI revolution. He further mentioned that despite being a global power, the US still needs global partners and cannot do everything on its own.

On being asked about India's manufacturing capabilities, especially in the defence sector, EAM S Jaishankar said India should not serve as a market to global manufacturers and could emerge as a leading manufacturer under the ‘Make in India movement.’

S Jaishankar said that the dilemma of the US is not unique, and many other countries, including India, face a similar dilemma. He added that many of India's challenges, whether they are related to trade, FTAs, or China, are not dissimilar to those faced by other nations. While they may not be identical, they are certainly not dissimilar.

S Jaishankar said that if the American political verdict is interpreted, it reflects the electorate's disenchantment and unhappiness with the impact of globalisation on them. He added that when discussing globalisation, China must be mentioned, as it has been the biggest beneficiary of globalisation.

He pointed out that over the past 25 years, a certain model of globalisation was adopted, and it was the Clinton administration that had acquiesced to this model in the first place.

S Jaishankar also mentioned that the world looks at India economically, as it is challenging for countries to maintain a growth rate of 7-8 per cent and remain in that zone. He added that there is a lot of business and investment enthusiasm in India today.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the world looks at the political stability in India, especially at a time when the world is experiencing political instability. He added that in democratic countries today, it is not easy to get re-elected, and being re-elected twice is a very big deal.

PM Modi advised that there should be a PhD on the 100-year journey of Hindustan Times, which would be a service to society. He suggested that a university, either in India or abroad, should have a Hindustan Times chair.
