The court also asked that all photographs of the victim be taken off social media in order to respect her dignity and privacy.

Latest Developments

- The West Bengal government under Mamata Banerjee's leadership, has faced flak for ‘mishandling’ the case, with opposition parties and activists calling for the chief minister to resign.

-On the unrelenting protests across the state, Banerjee alleged “conspiracy” by the Centre and some Left parties. She also accused few TV channels of disseminating provocative news for gaining TRP's.

The TMC welcomed the apex court direction to the protesting doctors to return to work by 5 pm tomorrow. The party claimed that more than 7 lakh out-patients have been denied care since the protests began.
